5 Ways to Show Appreciation That Build Your Brand

The Live Local community was built on two simple ideas: giving and intentionality. When we take time to give, connect, and lift others up, our businesses don’t just grow; our community gets stronger.

November is the perfect reminder that appreciation isn’t just a feeling; it’s a practice. And when we practice gratitude with intention, it becomes one of the most powerful brand-building tools we have.

Here are five simple, practical ways to show appreciation this November that strengthen relationships and reinforce your values:

  1. Write a Handwritten Note: Send a personal card thanking a local business for their hard work and dedication to their community. It’s rare, memorable, and genuine.

  2. Spotlight a Partner or Local Business: Share a post highlighting another local business or a client success story. You’re not just promoting them, you’re showing that you value collaboration over competition.

  3.  Host a Gratitude Giveaway: This is not only one of my favorites, but also most effective strategies. Offer a small giveaway or drawing just for your loyal followers. Keep it heartfelt, fun, and aligned with your brand personality.

  4. Support a Local Cause: Partner with a charity or food drive. This is where brand meets purpose, showing that your business is part of something bigger. And remember you can support this not only physically, with your volunteer time and money, but also with your marketing and reach.

  5. Film a Quick ‘Thank You’ Video: Look into the camera and say it directly. A sincere 30-second thank-you connects in a way no ad ever could. It could be directed to a specific person or business, just a topic in general, you decide on where your gratitude lies each day.

November is a month of Giving and Appreciation, so let's make plans to strengthen the brand of our business of community. Building a brand isn’t just about visibility; it’s about values. Let’s make gratitude a visible part of how we do business this month.
