I'm Finally Taking the Advice

For a while now, people I trust have been telling me the same thing. They'd say it kindly, but they'd say it directly. "Billy, give away the good stuff, you're leaving real opportunity on the table."
I kept nodding and kept doing things my way.

My way was a do-it-yourself model. Here are the principles, here's the path, go build it because I believe so wholeheartedly in the principles' work. I have watched them work for local service owners, people on my team, fellow marketers, an array of people who decided to commit.
But I kept running into the same person, someone who clearly needed this, someone who had the drive and the business and the raw material. But they were either just getting started or they were nervous about spending money in a climate that has a lot of people holding their breath.
A do-it-yourself model asks that person to figure it out alone. And for a lot of them, alone is exactly the thing standing in their way. So I started asking myself an uncomfortable question: Was I building the model that was right for them, or the model that was easy for me?
That question is the start of a shift, and I am moving toward a consulting model.
Not because do-it-yourself was wrong, but because I want to do more of the actual helping. I preach ADDING VALUE, but I was giving it to only a select few who could pay to play. I want to sit closer to the work instead of handing someone a map and wishing them luck.
Here is the part I keep coming back to, the fact that this is not one dramatic leap, rather this is what reflection looks like inside a real business. You make a lot of small adjustments, you test, you watch, you listen to the people (yes, I am talking to me) who keep telling you the same thing. And then, when the timing is right, you make the big move.
I am in the small adjustments part right now. Out loud, in public, because I think the local service owners I work with deserve to see that this is how it actually goes. I don't want to have an Instagram business where you only see the vacation shots and highlight reels, but the times I stepped into a muddy puddle or flat tire on the side of the road as well.
This week I want to walk you through where I'm headed and why. And I want to show you something I think could change how you build your business too, because making the Blueprint free proves that I also want you along for the adventure, and I absolutely want you to win at your business...and believe I can help.
This is the part that I CTA to go to the website, but it is not completely done yet, it will be soon, and I am ready to have fun marketing with you.
