Sure AI Works, But Here is Something Better

I have been spending the start of the year talking about systems, talking about efficiency, motivation, and a lot of using AI the smart way.

Now let’s talk about something just as important: In-person conversations.

AI can write your emails. It can outline your blog. It can help you organize your CRM, but it cannot shake a hand. It cannot feel the energy in a room. It cannot hear the tone shift when someone says, “You know who you should meet?”

I am sure you are seeing the same trends that I am seeing, that the more digital the world becomes, the more valuable face-to-face trust becomes. And if you have paid attention to any of my content, you know that referral partners do not just start because someone liked your post. They start because someone trusts you.

And trust builds faster when you show up physically.

This is not anti-AI. Use AI in the morning. Free up your time. Then use that time to go sit across from someone. I believe that the businesses that win in the next decade will not be the loudest online...but the one that create long-lasting relationships within their community.

So here are three simple examples of actions for this week:

  1. Schedule one in-person coffee with someone strategic. Not random. Strategic. Someone whose clients overlap with yours.

  2. Attend one event and do not pitch anything. Just ask questions. Learn. Be curious ask questions, and follow up.

  3. Introduce two people who should know each other. Be the connector. Do not ask for anything in return.

That is warm marketing. Simple. Human. Repeatable.

Most people will keep hiding behind automation and they will eventually be left behind for those who have taken the time to develop real human referral partners.

The ones who build referral ecosystems will walk into rooms.
