The Productivity Challenge That'll Make You Nervous (Do It Anyway)

All week, we've talked about must-do lists and the A-List versus B-List. Today we stop talking and you commit. So for our Friday CTA, I am going to skip action tracking, we aren't talking goal setting, those are topics from past blogs, and you can look back if you need to.

Here's the challenge for this Friday: Plan an entire week around your top two activities.

I know, you just broke into a light sweat reading that. Everything in you is screaming about all the things that won't get done. Sit with that for a second, because that panic is exactly the problem we've been circling all week; you've trained yourself to believe everything is urgent, and it's quietly running you into the ground.

So here we go, pull out your calendar right now and let's make some plans.

First, pick your top two A-List activities. The ones that start, deepen, or maintain the relationships that lead to referrals. If you're not sure which two matter most, that's a different problem, and we've covered it before.

Second, block the time, put those two activities on the calendar like they're appointments with your best client, because in a way they are. Protect that time the way you'd protect a paying job.

Third, go deep on one. Pick your single most important activity and spend the week actually reviewing and improving it. We are taking the one thing that matters most and making it sharper.

And here's the hard part, everything that doesn't bring immediate results gets ignored during focus week. The whole B-List gets benched (the world will not end, I promise you). And this will help you finally feel what it's like to do your most important work without the noise.

One week. Two activities. One deep dive. That's the challenge.

So let me ask: What are the two activities you're putting on your calendar this week? Post them in the comments. Say it out loud and it's a lot harder to back out.
