What "Something for Them" Actually Looks Like
Stop following up empty-handed...today what "something for them" actually looks like.
Because when I say bring something, people picture a gift or a referral or some big favor they don't have time to arrange. That's not it. A deposit can be small; it just has to be for them, and it has to carry no ask in return.

Here are three you can send today, each one takes about five minutes and requires nothing back.
-The first is a piece of information they can use: you read (or watch) something that touches their world. A market shift, a code change, a new tool, an article about their industry. You send it with one line: "Saw this and thought of you." That's it, you're not selling, you're proving you think about them when they're not in the room.
-The second is a name: This is the strongest (and one of my favorites) one and almost nobody does it. You connect two people in your world who should know each other. The contractor who needs a good bookkeeper, the bookkeeper who wants more contractor clients, you make the introduction and step back. You just made yourself the person who grows both their businesses, and you asked for nothing.
-The third is recognition. You saw their post, their new listing, their kid's game, their work anniversary. You comment, you leave a real review, you send a note that says you noticed. Attention is a gift, and in a world where everyone is talking about themselves, the person who notices stands out immediately.
Notice what all three have in common. None of them mention you. None of them ask for the meeting, the referral, or the business...and that's the point. When you help make them the hero, then they will know that they have an ally in their business.
This is the mechanic behind the whole thing I teach. Referrals don't come from staying top of mind, they come from being the person who consistently gives first. When you follow up with something for them, over and over, you become the obvious name they drop when someone asks "do you know anybody who."
Here's the shift, you already have the contacts. You've been telling yourself the problem was time or the right word, but it was never that. It was that you had nothing to bring, so you brought nothing but selling yourself. Fix the input and the follow-up writes itself.
If you want the full system this comes from, I give away the entire Connector Blueprint for free at ReferralBlueprint.com. It's the exact framework for turning a list of contacts into a referral pipeline, built on giving first.
Pick one person today. Send them one of these three. What are you going to send?
